Drawing on over 40 years of experience, I offer personalized psychotherapy that incorporates proven methods drawn from numerous orientations. My therapeutic style is collaborative and begins with establishing a strong therapeutic relationship based on empathy and understanding. I work with my clients to develop a clear treatment plan with attainable goals that meet each individual’s needs. Sessions are confidential; I do not participate in any insurance plans or managed care contracts.
I provide individual therapy for anxiety, posttraumatic stress, relational trauma, panic attacks, phobias, depression, chronic health issues, work challenges, and stress management. My specialization is in trauma recovery from acute posttraumatic stress that may follow a motor vehicle accident or other single incident trauma as well as from complex traumatic stress with historical interpersonal origins. I utilize EMDR, a research supported therapy, to treat recent and past traumatic experiences. If you have tried “talk therapy” without success, EMDR may work for you.
In addition to individual therapy, I offer couples therapy and parenting consultations. My work with couples focuses on improving communication skills and creating a shared vision of the relationship. Parenting education enhances and improves parents’ ability to understand their children’s temperaments and to nurture their development.
